Telugu Film workers strike from today

Thousands of film workers will go on a strike from Friday. The workers are demanding a hike in their wages,but Telugu film producers are in no mood to accept it. Workers of all the 24 crafts will not participate in any shooting from tomorrow until their demands are met, according to A P Film Industry Employees Federation (APFIEF) president Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao.

The Telugu film industry came to a grinding halt for nearly two months towards the end of the last year when film workers had struck work demanding a wage hike.T h o u g h the film workers were reportedly assured that their demand would be looked into and fresh agreements entered into,this has not been done yet.

While the revision of wages was to have been affected from March this year,the agreements were not revised.Film workers say that the wage revision,in fact,has not happened for the last six year,though producers deny that.In a bid to stall the proposed strike,producers are trying to convince the workers that the issue would be settled soon.
