ABO Review : OK Bangaram

`OK Bangaram` is a Feel Good, Urban Romantic Musical Drama.

Story :

The story of New Age Romance and Live-in Relationships. Aadi ( Dulquer ) Meets Tara ( Nithya ) in a strange scenario and later they instantly become friends and more, leading into a Live-in Relationship which ends up changing their opinions and life altogether.

Analysis :

It is a Romantic Drama with Great Music and Technical Values. It is almost completely set in Mumbai and has Urbane and Class View and outlook. The 1st half of the film is cool and largely good. 2nd half gets a bit dragged in the middle but has ended fairly well and is Okay. It would be mostly liked by the Target group of Urban Youth & Class.

`OK Bangaram` although has a lot of similarities with `Sakhi` is still worth a watch for the lead pair`s Chemistry which holds this film together even with thin story line. Maniratnam has certainly left his mark in a couple of good episodes but this ain`t even close to his best works. Having said that, we generally tend to have high standards for the Director and it is still a more than Okay film. `OK Bangaram` on the whole is worth a watch for its Concept, Music & Performances.

Performances :

Dulquer Salman ( S/o Mammootty ) is a proven performer and is at ease with his Character. He makes every thing very simple and cool and his Chemistry with Nithya Menen is a big Plus. Nithya looked all the more Glamorous surprisingly and did a fabulous job which is not a surprise at all. Prakash Raj is More than Adequate. Other Supporting cast are adequate.

Technical Details :

AR Rahman gave a Top notch album for this one. Songs are visually good and PC Sreeram`s Magic made them even more brilliant. Nani`s Dubbing gave it the much needed Nativity.

BoxOffice Verdict :

The film has scope to do Decent business in `A` Centres and especially Hyderabad.
