ABO Mini Review : Rey

`Rey` is `Step Up` Meets Telugu Masala. A Musical Action Entertainer which is strictly for Youth.

Story :

Jenna (Shardda Das ) is set for a Hat-trick Titles of `Best of the World`- which is Biggest stage for a Pop singer. She is a wild character and is adamant on eliminating every one who comes in her way by any means. Rocket ( Sai Dharam Tej ), a Jamaican student in Dance school Meets Amrutha ( Sayami Kher ), who`s dream is to win the `Best of the World` Title. How they go on to achieve it forms the rest.

Analysis :

The film is a Mass Musical entertainer with Plenty of Action. It is a bit strange but yes Mass films can be made even with 100% Foreign Backdrop as `Rey` proved it. There is a lot of Hard-work in this film which hasn`t turned out exactly as they wished for and it is worth a mention. Coming to the actual content, it would be pretty hard to sit through `Rey` and connect with characters for General audience. Entire film is on a High with every character trying to Overdo the other. The film`s only good Part is when an Odd song appears and the all -important Climax when Tej`s Dance moves are showcased. It is a Different concept and Theme for a Telugu film and that`s all about it.

Performances : Sai Dharam Tej is Adequate for a Debutant and is excellent with his Moves. Sharadda Das did al-right. Sayami Kher has lots to improve. The Supporting Cast are Adequate.

Songs & Background Music : Late Chakri`s Songs are passable on screen and a couple are Good. BGM is Loud and over the top and also is irritating at times

Direction : Not upto the mark.
