ABO Review : 'Pantham'

`Pantham` is a Typical Commercial Entertainer.

Story :

Vikranth (Gopichand) steals money from Political Big-wigs to help people. Irritated by losing Thousands of Crores of Black money, Home Minister (Sampath) orders his gangs to nab him and uncovers surprising truths. Who Vikranth really is, and how he defeats these Corrupt Politicians forms the rest.

Performances:

Gopichand played his parts well especially shining in the 2nd half. Sampath did a good job as Angry Politician. Mehreen hasn`t got much to play with and is adequate.

Technical Departments:

Music: Below-par.

Cinematography: Good.

Editing: Adequate.

Action : Adequate.

Analysis :

Robin-hood stealing money for a cause is an ages old story-line. New Director Chakri mixes it with somewhat less discussed issue of `Ex-Gratia Corruption`. `Pantham` follows the routine time-tested formula sticking to lighter-vein stuff in the 1st half with the later parts revealing the plot with a good climax. It has a Below Par 1st half and above-par 2nd half. Better Music and and equally interesting 1st half could have made this a proper come-back film for Gopichand. Nevertheless, you may try it if Commercial Potboilers are your thing and this is probably a decent one at that.
