ABO Review : 'Ranarangam'

‘Ranarangam` is an Ordinary Gangster Drama!.

Story :

Deva (Sharwanand) and his gang of friends start illegal liquor business to take advantage of Prohibition (1995) in Vizag. Everything seems to be fine but their rise irritates the the local MLA (Murali Sharma) and a tug of war begins for supremacy. The rest is about the rise of Deva from Vizag to Europe and how he survives betrayal and politics.

Performances:

Sharwanand does a fab job as a classy gangster as well as a mass leader. Kalyani gets a meaty and traditional role and is pretty good. Murali Sharma plays the main antagonist quite well. Kajal has no importance whatsoever. Ajay, Brahmaji, Aadarsh, Raja and other supporting cast are adequate.

Technical Departments:

Music: Good.

Cinematography: Good.

Editing: Adequate.

Analysis :

`Ranarangam` is an Ordinary Gangster Drama with decent entertainment but weak story. The film`s 1st half is a bit better with a good love track but the 2nd half is let down by the lack of a strong antagonist. It has some good moments here and there but the narration doesn`t offer us any highs. But this ain`t a bad film either and is technically superior and sound. You may try this to kill some time and that`s all about it.

Box-office Verdict :

The Holiday Released helped it gain Good early Opening. It may not be able to sustain the momentum with this Content.
