ABO Review : 'Mallesham'
By OM
‘Mallesham` is an Ordinary Biopic.
Story :
This is Based on the life of
Padma Sri awardee Mallesham who invented the Laxmi Asu machine. Mallesham (Priyadarshi) is from a struggling `hand-loom weaver` family in Rural Telangana. Seeing his mother toil hard with her own hands daily, He decides to invent a machine. Rest is how Mallesham pulls it off against heavy odds and failures.
Performances:
Priyadarshi in an authentic and impactful role, delivers the goods well. Jhansi steals the show with her brilliant performance as well. Ananya, Gangavva and others are adequate.
Technical Departments:
Music: Decent.
Cinematography: Decent.
Editing: Ordinary.
Analysis :
A Poor Man rising against odds and achieving something which leaves a great impact is always a good subject to showcase in a film. But Mallesham never feels like a feature film and instead it is more of a documentary with slow narration and without dramatisation of any sort. Neverthless this decent attempt may be watched to know about and witness the struggle of `Mallesham` and that`s all about it.
Plus:
1. Biopic
2. Performances
Minus:
1. Too Slow
2. Documentary Style Narration
Movie Rating: 2.5/5
Box-office Verdict :
Unlikely to make much impact.
Ratings :
1 - Stay Away
2 - Poor
2.5 - So-So
3 - Watchable
4 - Very Good
4.5 - Outstanding
5 - Out of this World
