ABO Review : 'Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam'

‘Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam` : Decent Romantic Family Drama!

Story :

Arjun (Vishwak Sen) from Suryapet (Telangana) in his early 30`s is desperate to tie the knot. He finds a match and goes to Andhra for his engagement with Madhavi (Ruksaar Dhillon). But the COVID Lockdown forces his entire family to spend few weeks more there and changes his life forever.

Performances:

Vishwak Sen played the role of an early 30`s Bachelor quite convincingly. Ritika Nayak (Debut) steals the show and is quite impressive. Rukshar just needed to play dumb and did her job well. Goparaju Ramana, Rajkumar Kasireddy and other supporting cast are more than adequate. Ashok Selvan makes a cameo appearance!

Technical Departments:

Music: Ordinary and lacks a chartbuster!

Cinematography: Good.

Editing: Ordinary.

Action : Okay!

Analysis :

`AVAK` is a pleasant feel good family drama with romance and entertainment as its core. The film is set in Rural Andhra backdrop and rides on the cultural sensibilities and also showcases the struggles of any ordinary bridegroom. The 1st half of the film is good but the 2nd half gets bogged down initially but takes off in the middle and ends pretty well. This is a very much watchable wholesome entertainer despite its share of flaws.

Box-office Verdict :

Family Genre has lost its sheen after the pandemic drastically changing movie watching habits. While this certainly deserves to succeed, the harsh reality might be different.
